Directions to Garib Farm

Directions from Windhoek:

Total Duration: Approx. 1.5 hours / 120 km
Road Type: Asphalt road to Dordabis, followed by a good gravel road.

1. Start in Windhoek

  • Leave Windhoek via the B6 towards Gobabis.
  • Drive for approximately 60 km on the well-maintained B6 highway.

2. Turn onto the D1206

  • Turn right onto the D1206 towards Dordabis (signposted).
  • Follow the D1206 for approximately 35 km, until you reach Dordabis .

3. Drive through Dordabis & continue to Garib Farm

  • Drive through Dordabis and follow the D1443 southwards.
  • After approximately 20–25 km along the D1443 you will arrive at Garib Farm (Please look out for the sign or entrance gate.)
  • The Google Maps link leads directly to the entrance: Farm Garib Lage

Important Information

 

  • The final 20–25 km are on a well-maintained gravel road (pad) – please drive with appropriate caution.
  • Gas Station: The best option is Windhoek – Fuel station in Dordabis (open during daytime only)

  • Vehicle Recommendation: 4x4 SUV recommended
  • Mobile Network: Limited – download offline maps in advance (Google Maps or Maps.me).
  • Please plan to arrive before dark, as wildlife encounters on gravel roads are frequent.
