Directions to Farm Garib

Directions from Windhoek:

Total travel time: approx. 1.5 hours / 120 km
Road conditions: Tarred road to Dordabis, followed by a good gravel road

1. Start in Windhoek

  • Leave Windhoek on the B6 towards Gobabis.
  • Follow the well-maintained B6 for approximately 60 km.

2. Turn onto the D1206

  • Turn right onto the D1206 towards Dordabis (signposted).
  • Follow the D1206 for approximately 35 km until you reach Dordabis.

3. Drive through Dordabis and continue to Farm Garib

  • Drive through Dordabis and follow the D1443 southbound.
  • After approximately 20–25 km on the D1443, you will reach Farm Garib. Look out for the sign or gate at the entrance.

Important Information

 

  • The final 20–25 km are on a well-maintained gravel road (“Pad”) – please adjust your speed accordingly.
  • Fuel:The best option is to refuel in Windhoek. There is also a filling station in Dordabis, but it is only open during the daytime.
  • Recommended vehicle: A 4x4 SUV is recommended.
  • Mobile network: Coverage is limited – please download offline maps in advance (Google Maps or Maps.me). 
  • Please plan to arrive before nightfall, as encounters with wildlife are common on gravel roads after dark.

The clear, dry air and wide-open views create a unique hunting environment, with every season offering its own special character. Even during the warmer months, the climate remains pleasant and comfortable thanks to the farm’s slightly elevated location.

Namibia’s official trophy hunting season runs from 1 February to 30 November.
